REARO AT THE PALACE
A new Corian reception desk to The People's Palace and new Corian vanity units to the Winter Gardens were part of a recent upgrade to the popular Glasgow Green venue
The People's Palace is the city's social history museum
with a wealth of fascinating items on show including Billy
Connolly's banana boots.
Visitors can take a trip to the "steamie" and visit a
typical tenement one-bedroom "single end" from the 1930s.
The adjoining Winter Gardens is an elegant Victorian glasshouse where visitors can relax among tropical plants and enjoy the cafe.
The work was carried out by City Building (Glasgow) LLP, which was formed in 2006 evolving from the former Building Services Department of Glasgow city Council to become an autonomous company with more than 2,000 employees and an annual turnover of over £150m.
The company offers a wide range of building services and helps train more than 300 apprentices each year.
Facility Manager, David Halliday, said: "We were delighted with the quality of materials supplied by Rearo. Both buildings are now looking better than ever."
